U of T earns profits on the list of universities with the best global reputation

As the University of Toronto's graduates of the year 2018 graduated, they can be proud to know their level of the world's best-known college.

Today, U of T is ranked 22nd in the world - and one in Canada - in the highly influential rankings of the world's top 100 famous brands. That's two points higher than last year's list published by Times Higher Education (THE).

U of T ranked one of the top 11 publicly funded universities in the world, linked to the Zurich Institute of Technology.

"This is the best news for us all at the University of Toronto," said President Merican Gertler. "It is an impressive success again to be recognized at the top of the world's best state and private universities.

"Our international reputation is made up of the efforts of our faculty, staff and students - such efforts lead to our global practice of teaching and the worldwide impact of our research."

Three Canadian universities are at a peak of 50 and all have grown in their investments this year. The University of Toronto was followed by the University of British Columbia at 38 (over 40) and McGill University 41 (up from 42).

The collection of over 100 high-end companies worldwide by surveying more than 10,000 senior academics around the world.

American universities continue to dominate the list, with 44 institutions in the top 100. Harvard University is again on the eighth consecutive year by MIT and Stanford University.

"The most impressive thing is that the United States has strengthened its position ... despite the fear that the United States has a" Trump "problem," said Truman.

He also notes that China's universities, which have risen to a high level in recent years, seem to be stopping. Tsinghua University and Peking University - are 14 and 17, respectively, while "stars from mainland China have fallen."

"This new information shows that it is difficult for the dominant power to break into the global elite in general," Baty said.

In addition, for the first time in 7 years, India has destroyed top 100 with the Indian Institute of Science in 91-100.

Overall, the University of Toronto continues to be the highest university in Canada and one of the highest public universities in the five most prestigious countries in the world: Times Higher Education, QS World Rankings, Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, US News Best Universities Global, and National Taiwan University.
